Technical Description
DTC C0159 is triggered when the Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM) detects a circuit malfunction, plausibility error, or voltage state mismatch in the Traction Control System (TCS) switch/signal circuit. The EBCM monitors internal pull-up bias voltage (typically 5V or vehicle reference voltage). If the input line is latched low (short to ground), latched high, or displays continuous erratic transitions failing internal debouncing timers, the ESC/TCS functionality is inhibited while basic foundation hydraulic braking remains active.
Possible Causes
1. Vätskespill (kaffe/läsk) eller mekaniskt slitage i TCS/ESP-knappsatsen i mittkonsolen/instrumentpanelen som orsakar intern krypström.
2. Skadat kablage, skavd isolering eller korrosion i kontaktdon mellan mittkonsol och EBCM/ABS-hydraulaggregat.
3. Defekt intern pull-up-transistor eller A/D-ingång i ABS/ESP-styrenheten (EBCM).

Mechanic's Tip
Before replacing expensive components, always double-check wiring and connections. 80% of all sensor faults are actually due to corroded contacts or broken wires.
