Technical Description
P0107 is set when the Engine Control Unit (ECU) detects a voltage signal from the Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor that is lower than the calibrated minimum threshold (typically below 0.2V to 0.5V). The MAP sensor provides input to the ECU for calculating air density and fuel delivery requirements. A low input usually signifies an open circuit, a short to ground in the signal wire, or a complete sensor failure. The ECU will substitute MAP values with throttle position (TPS) sensor data to maintain engine operation, often triggering a limp-home mode.
Possible Causes
Faulty MAP sensor (internal short)
Wiring open circuit or short to ground on the signal wire
Loss of 5V reference voltage from the ECU
Faulty Engine Control Unit (ECU)

Mechanic's Tip
Before replacing expensive components, always double-check wiring and connections. 80% of all sensor faults are actually due to corroded contacts or broken wires.
