Technical Description
P0185 points to a general circuit malfunction in the Fuel Temperature Sensor 'B' circuit. The Engine Control Unit (ECU) uses this sensor to monitor fuel temperature to adjust fuel delivery based on density and viscosity changes. The sensor is typically an NTC (Negative Temperature Coefficient) thermistor. The DTC is triggered when the ECU detects a signal voltage outside the expected range (typically 0.2V to 4.8V) for a calibrated duration. This affects the fuel mapping and adaptive trim strategies.

- Data Stream Analysis: Use a scan tool to compare fuel temperature with coolant temperature on a cold soak; they should be within a few degrees of each other.
- Correction: Clean connectors, repair wiring, or replace the fuel temperature sensor if resistance is out of spec.
