Technical Description
P0208 is a standard OBD-II trouble code indicating a fault in the fuel injector control circuit for cylinder number 8. The Engine Control Module (ECM) monitors the continuity and resistance of the injector circuit. If the ECM detects a voltage or resistance value that is outside of the calibrated range when the injector driver is activated or deactivated, it interprets this as a circuit malfunction. This can be caused by an open circuit, short to ground, or high resistance in the wiring or the injector solenoid itself.
Possible Causes
Faulty fuel injector for cylinder 8 (internal solenoid failure)
Wiring harness damage (fraying, short to ground, or open circuit)
Poor electrical connection or corrosion in the injector connector
Failed injector driver circuit within the Engine Control Unit (ECU)

Mechanic's Tip
Before replacing expensive components, always double-check wiring and connections. 80% of all sensor faults are actually due to corroded contacts or broken wires.
