Technical Description
P021C is a generic diagnostic trouble code indicating a timing deviation in the fuel injection event for cylinder 11. The Engine Control Unit (ECU) monitors the precise moment fuel is injected relative to the crankshaft position. If the feedback signal (via cylinder pressure sensors or injector solenoid flyback voltage) indicates that the injection event occurred too early or too late compared to the requested timing, the DTC is stored. This disruption can lead to poor combustion efficiency and increased emissions.
Possible Causes
Faulty or clogged fuel injector (cylinder 11)
Wiring harness issue or corroded connector to the injector
Incorrect signal from crankshaft or camshaft position sensors
Internal engine mechanical failure or ECU software glitch

Mechanic's Tip
Before replacing expensive components, always double-check wiring and connections. 80% of all sensor faults are actually due to corroded contacts or broken wires.
