P0225 is defined as a circuit malfunction in the Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch 'C'. Modern Drive-by-Wire systems use multiple sensors within the pedal assembly or throttle body for redundancy. If the PCM (Powertrain Control Module) detects that the voltage signal from sensor 'C' is inconsistent with the other sensors or falls outside the calibrated range (typically below 0.2V or above 4.8V), the code is stored. This usually triggers a 'Limp Home Mode' to ensure vehicle safety and prevent unintended throttle response.
