Technical Description
P022F is stored when the Engine Control Unit (ECU) detects an abnormally high voltage signal within the Charge Air Cooler (CAC) bypass control circuit. This bypass valve redirects intake air away from the intercooler during specific modes, such as cold starts or to prevent icing/condensation. A 'High' condition typically suggests a short to voltage or an open circuit where the control line is pulled high. This fault disrupts charge air temperature management, leading to suboptimal combustion and potential emission issues.
Possible Causes
Short to voltage in the bypass valve wiring harness
Faulty bypass solenoid/actuator (internal short)
Corroded or loose electrical connectors
Internal Engine Control Unit (ECU) failure

Mechanic's Tip
Before replacing expensive components, always double-check wiring and connections. 80% of all sensor faults are actually due to corroded contacts or broken wires.
