Technical Description
P0245 is set when the Engine Control Module (ECM) detects an unexpectedly low voltage in the wastegate control solenoid 'A' circuit. This is typically interpreted as a short circuit to ground or a failed solenoid with internally low resistance. The ECM uses Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) to control boost pressure; if the circuit is pulled low outside of commanded parameters, this code is triggered to protect the engine from overboost conditions.
Possible Causes
Short circuit to ground in the wastegate solenoid wiring
Faulty wastegate solenoid (internal short)
Corrosion or damaged pins in the connector
Internal Engine Control Unit (ECU) failure

Mechanic's Tip
Before replacing expensive components, always double-check wiring and connections. 80% of all sensor faults are actually due to corroded contacts or broken wires.
