Technical Description
P024C is triggered when the Engine Control Module (ECM) detects an unexpectedly low voltage in the control circuit for the Charge Air Cooler (Intercooler) Bypass Valve. This system manages intake air temperature by routing air either through or around the intercooler. The 'Low' status typically indicates a short circuit to ground within the wiring harness or a failed solenoid with internal resistance issues, leading to an abnormal current draw that pulls the voltage below the calibrated threshold.
Possible Causes
Short circuit to ground in the bypass valve wiring harness
Failing bypass solenoid/valve (internal short)
Corroded or loose electrical connectors
Internal ECM failure in the driver circuit

Mechanic's Tip
Before replacing expensive components, always double-check wiring and connections. 80% of all sensor faults are actually due to corroded contacts or broken wires.
