Technical Description
P0265 is a generic OBD-II diagnostic trouble code (DTC) indicating that the Engine Control Module (ECM) has detected a high voltage condition within the fuel injector control circuit for cylinder number 2. The ECM monitors the injector circuit for specific voltage and current parameters. If the ECM attempts to ground the circuit to fire the injector but detects that the voltage remains high (short to voltage), P0265 is triggered. This usually implies an electrical fault in the wiring or the injector solenoid itself, preventing the injector from operating as commanded.
Possible Causes
Short circuit to battery voltage (B+) in the injector 2 wiring harness
Faulty fuel injector (internal solenoid short)
Corroded or loose electrical connector pins
Faulty Engine Control Unit (ECU) internal driver failure

Mechanic's Tip
Before replacing expensive components, always double-check wiring and connections. 80% of all sensor faults are actually due to corroded contacts or broken wires.
