Technical Description
P0267 is set when the Engine Control Module (ECM/PCM) detects a lower than expected voltage in the control circuit for the fuel injector of cylinder number 3. The ECM monitors the voltage drop across the injector. When the ECM driver grounds the injector to open it, the current flow is expected to be within a specific range. If the circuit experiences low resistance or a short to ground, the voltage drops below the manufacturer-defined threshold. This disrupts fuel delivery and cylinder balance, often resulting in misfires.
Possible Causes
Short to ground in the wiring harness for injector 3
Faulty fuel injector (internal short/low resistance)
Corrosion or poor connection in the injector connector
Internal Engine Control Module (ECM) failure

Mechanic's Tip
Before replacing expensive components, always double-check wiring and connections. 80% of all sensor faults are actually due to corroded contacts or broken wires.
