Technical Description
P0270 is a generic OBD-II diagnostic trouble code (DTC) indicating that the Engine Control Module (ECM) has detected a low voltage or current condition in the fuel injector circuit for cylinder number 4. The ECM monitors the injector driver circuit; if the voltage drop across the injector is lower than the calibrated threshold, or if the current draw is insufficient when the driver is switched on, the code is triggered. This typically points to a short to ground or an injector with low internal resistance.
Possible Causes
Faulty fuel injector for cylinder 4 (internal short)
Wiring harness issue (short to ground on the signal wire)
Corrosion or poor connection in the injector connector
Failed injector driver circuit in the Engine Control Module (ECM)

Mechanic's Tip
Before replacing expensive components, always double-check wiring and connections. 80% of all sensor faults are actually due to corroded contacts or broken wires.
