Technical Description
P029E is stored when the Engine Control Unit (ECU) has reached its maximum enrichment limit for Cylinder 2. The ECU is attempting to compensate for an excessively lean condition by increasing the injector pulse width but can no longer add more fuel within its calibrated parameters. This is typically monitored through crankshaft speed fluctuations and oxygen sensor feedback. It suggests a localized fueling issue or air leak affecting only one cylinder.
Possible Causes
Clogged or partially blocked fuel injector (Cylinder 2)
Intake manifold air leak (gasket failure) specific to Cylinder 2
High electrical resistance in the injector wiring or connector
Mechanical engine fault (low compression or valve issue) on Cylinder 2

Mechanic's Tip
Before replacing expensive components, always double-check wiring and connections. 80% of all sensor faults are actually due to corroded contacts or broken wires.
