Technical Description
The Engine Control Unit (ECU) monitors fuel injector performance by adjusting injection duration to ensure smooth idle and meet emission standards. P02AC is triggered when the ECU has adjusted the fuel trim for cylinder 5 to its maximum positive limit to compensate for a lean condition. This means the ECU can no longer add more fuel to balance the cylinder. This is typically caused by a restricted injector, low fuel pressure, or unmetered air entering the cylinder.
Possible Causes
Clogged or faulty fuel injector for cylinder 5
Intake manifold leak or vacuum leak near cylinder 5
High resistance or corrosion in the injector electrical connector
Engine mechanical issue (low compression or valve seat wear)

Mechanic's Tip
Before replacing expensive components, always double-check wiring and connections. 80% of all sensor faults are actually due to corroded contacts or broken wires.
