Technical Description
The P02B2 code is triggered when the Engine Control Unit (ECU) reaches its maximum adaptive limit for cylinder number 6. The ECU monitors the contribution of each cylinder via the crankshaft position sensor and oxygen sensors (NOx/Lambda). If cylinder 6 is under-performing (running lean), the ECU attempts to increase the injector pulse width. When the required correction exceeds a calibrated threshold (max offset), P02B2 is stored. This typically points to a mechanical restriction or a high-resistance condition in the injector circuit.
Possible Causes
Restricted or partially clogged fuel injector (Cylinder 6)
Internal mechanical failure of the injector
High resistance in the wiring harness or corrosion in the connector
Fuel rail pressure fluctuations or valvetrain issues affecting cylinder 6

Mechanic's Tip
Before replacing expensive components, always double-check wiring and connections. 80% of all sensor faults are actually due to corroded contacts or broken wires.
