Technical Description
P02B5 is triggered when the Engine Control Unit (ECU) reaches its maximum enrichment limit (Fuel Trim) for cylinder 6. The ECU attempts to compensate for a lean condition (excess air or insufficient fuel) by increasing the injector's pulse width. When this compensation exceeds a calibrated threshold (typically +25-30%) for a set duration, the code is stored. This indicates the system can no longer maintain the desired air-fuel ratio for that specific cylinder.
Possible Causes
Clogged or partially restricted fuel injector for cylinder 6
Intake manifold leak or vacuum leak local to cylinder 6
Faulty ignition coil or spark plug causing incomplete combustion
Internal engine mechanical issue (low compression or worn camshaft lobe on cylinder 6)

Mechanic's Tip
Before replacing expensive components, always double-check wiring and connections. 80% of all sensor faults are actually due to corroded contacts or broken wires.
