P02B6 - Cylinder 6 - Fuel Trim at Max Limit

Technical Description
P02B6 is stored when the Engine Control Module (ECM) has reached its maximum adaptive limit for fuel trim on cylinder 6. The ECM is attempting to compensate for an excessively lean condition by increasing the fuel injector pulse width, but the targeted air/fuel ratio (Lambda) cannot be maintained. The system monitors individual cylinder performance by correlating crankshaft speed fluctuations with O2 sensor feedback. This code typically points towards a restricted fuel injector or a vacuum leak localized to cylinder 6.
Possible Causes
Clogged or faulty fuel injector for cylinder 6
Intake manifold vacuum leak localized to cylinder 6 intake runner
High electrical resistance in the injector circuit (corroded connector)
Mechanical engine fault (e.g., low compression or camshaft lobe wear affecting cylinder 6)

Mechanic's Tip
Before replacing expensive components, always double-check wiring and connections. 80% of all sensor faults are actually due to corroded contacts or broken wires.
