Technical Description
P02C1 is stored when the Engine Control Unit (ECU) detects that the fuel injector for cylinder 11 has reached its maximum adaptive learning limit. The ECU monitors the fuel trim for each cylinder; if it continuously has to increase the injector pulse width beyond a predefined threshold to compensate for a lean condition on cylinder 11, this code is triggered. This typically points to a restricted injector, an air leak near that specific cylinder intake runner, or high resistance in the injector driver circuit.
Possible Causes
Clogged or partially restricted fuel injector (cylinder 11)
Intake manifold air leak or injector O-ring failure specifically at cylinder 11
Faulty fuel pressure regulator or low fuel system delivery pressure
Wiring issues (high resistance) or failing ECU injector driver circuit

Mechanic's Tip
Before replacing expensive components, always double-check wiring and connections. 80% of all sensor faults are actually due to corroded contacts or broken wires.
