Technical Description
P02CC is set when the Engine Control Unit (ECU) reaches the maximum adaptive learning limit for the fuel injector in cylinder 1. The ECU monitors crankshaft acceleration peaks (speed fluctuations) to determine the contribution of each cylinder. If the injector in cylinder 1 is under-delivering fuel due to wear or clogging, the ECU extends the injection pulse width to compensate. When this offset reaches its maximum calibrated limit, the code is stored. This typically indicates a restricted injector, low internal flow, or shifting mechanical tolerances within the injector assembly.
Possible Causes
Clogged or worn fuel injector (Cylinder 1)
Low fuel rail pressure or air in the fuel system
Faulty injector wiring or poor connection at the plug
Compression loss in cylinder 1 or incorrect injector classification programming (IMA/ISA codes)

Mechanic's Tip
Before replacing expensive components, always double-check wiring and connections. 80% of all sensor faults are actually due to corroded contacts or broken wires.
