Technical Description
P02CF is stored when the Engine Control Unit (ECU) reaches its maximum compensation limit for fuel injector cylinder 2. The ECU monitors crankshaft acceleration to determine individual cylinder contribution. If the injector requires an excessive adjustment (offset) to its base injection pulse width to maintain smooth operation and the adjustment hits the upper calibrated limit, the code is triggered. This typically indicates a mechanical wear issue or a restricted fuel flow within the injector itself.
Possible Causes
Faulty or clogged fuel injector (Cylinder 2)
Incorrect injector coding (IQA/IMA codes) in the ECU
Low fuel rail pressure or air in the fuel system
Compression loss in cylinder 2 (internal engine wear)

Mechanic's Tip
Before replacing expensive components, always double-check wiring and connections. 80% of all sensor faults are actually due to corroded contacts or broken wires.
