Technical Description
P02DE indicates that the Engine Control Unit (ECU) has reached its maximum adaptive limit for fuel injector offset learning on cylinder 11. The ECU monitors crankshaft acceleration during each power stroke to balance fuel delivery between cylinders. If the ECU attempts to increase the injector's pulse width to compensate for a lean condition or injector wear but hits the programmed upper threshold without correcting the balance, this code is triggered. This occurs typically in V12 configurations or heavy-duty specialized engines.
Possible Causes
Clogged or worn fuel injector (cylinder 11)
Incorrect IMA/ISA injector coding in the ECU
High resistance in wiring or connector terminals
Low fuel pressure at the specific fuel rail
Mechanical engine issue on cylinder 11 (e.g., low compression)

Mechanic's Tip
Before replacing expensive components, always double-check wiring and connections. 80% of all sensor faults are actually due to corroded contacts or broken wires.
