Technical Description
Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P02F1 indicates that the Engine Control Unit (ECU) has reached its maximum calibration limit for the fuel injector on cylinder 5. The ECU continuously monitors the 'fuel trim' or offset for each individual injector to compensate for variations in fuel delivery. If the injector on cylinder 5 requires more compensation than the programmed threshold to maintain the target air-fuel ratio or cylinder contribution, the ECU triggers this code. This often relates to the injector's ability to respond to minimum drive pulse (MDP) commands.
Possible Causes
Clogged or dirty fuel injector on cylinder 5
Internal mechanical wear of the injector
High electrical resistance in the wiring harness or connector
Fuel pressure issues or contaminated fuel
Faulty Engine Control Unit (ECU) misinterpreting adaptation values

Mechanic's Tip
Before replacing expensive components, always double-check wiring and connections. 80% of all sensor faults are actually due to corroded contacts or broken wires.
