Technical Description
P02F5 is set when the Engine Control Unit (ECU) detects that cylinder 6 is not contributing the expected amount of power/torque to the crankshaft compared to the other cylinders. The ECU monitors the crankshaft speed (acceleration) following the firing stroke of cylinder 6 using the Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor. If the measured acceleration is below a calibrated threshold, the ECU identifies a contribution or balance fault. This can be caused by restricted fuel flow, electrical resistance issues in the injector coil, or internal mechanical wear.
Possible Causes
Clogged or partially failing fuel injector on cylinder 6
High resistance or corrosion in the injector connector
Mechanical engine issues (low compression, worn rings or valves) in cylinder 6
Wiring harness issues (short to ground or open circuit) between ECU and injector

Mechanic's Tip
Before replacing expensive components, always double-check wiring and connections. 80% of all sensor faults are actually due to corroded contacts or broken wires.
