Technical Description
P032A is a generic OBD-II diagnostic trouble code indicating that the Engine Control Module (ECM/PCM) has detected an abnormal signal or electrical fault in the Knock Sensor 3 circuit on Bank 1. The knock sensor is a piezoelectric transducer that monitors engine vibrations for pre-ignition (knocking). The ECM uses this feedback to retard ignition timing for engine protection. This code triggers when the sensor voltage is outside of calibrated limits or shows a lack of activity when combustion noise is expected.
