    P2714 - Pressure Control Solenoid D Performance/Stuck Off

Related:Pressure Control Solenoid D Performance/Stuck Off, Wiring harness and connectors, Control Module (ECM/PCM)

    System

    Powertrain (Engine & Gearbox)

    Technical Description

The control module has detected a fault in the Pressure Control Solenoid D Performance/Stuck Off (P2714).

    Oscilloscope Waveform Analysis

    2 ms/div, 20 V/div
Capture the PWM control signal. The square wave must have clean edges, a stable frequency (typically 30 - 200 Hz), and a distinct flyback spike on every switch-off.

    Possible Causes

    1

Mechanical sticking or debris/carbon contamination jamming Pressure Control Solenoid D Performance/Stuck Off

    2

Channel D:Verify dedicated wiring pins and signal pair for circuit D against the schematic.

    3

Chafed or pinched wiring harness along the signal path to Pressure Control Solenoid D Performance/Stuck Off

    4

Internal mechanical wear or carbon deposits inside Pressure Control Solenoid D Performance/Stuck Off

    5

Defective internal output driver or reference circuit in the control module for Pressure Control Solenoid D Performance/Stuck Off

    Symptoms

    4
Valve or flap mechanism remains mechanically stuck in the closed position
    Check Engine Light (MIL) illuminated
    Possible drivability or power reduction
Risk of failing an emissions inspection

    Recommended Solution

    1

Compare signal voltage and resistance between circuit D and companion circuit A at module connector.

    2

Command the actuator via scan-tool output tests to determine if the solenoid can overcome the return spring.

    3

Verify loaded supply voltage and harness terminal pins at Pressure Control Solenoid D Performance/Stuck Off.

    4

Check circuit continuity and ground-side voltage drop (< 0.05 V) for Pressure Control Solenoid D Performance/Stuck Off.

    5

Check supply and the low-side driver at the ECM connector. Replace the actuator or repair the circuit based on the readings.

    Mechanic's Tip

Use the scan-tool output test with the scope on the control side at the same time. If duty changes but the actuator does not move, the valve is stuck — not the electrical fault you were chasing.
