What does this fault code mean?
The tailgate control module (POT) checks the voltage across the tailgate closing motor. The fault is stored when the DC voltage is too low, which is caused by the wire to the closing motor being short-circuited to ground or by the motor being damaged.
Possible causes
- The wire to the closing motor is short-circuited to ground
- The closing motor is damaged
What you can do
- 1Check the fuse for the tailgate control module in the fuse box. Its location is shown in the owner's manual or on the cover of the box
- 2Look for chafed wires to the closing motor and for connectors that are loose
- 3With a multimeter you can check that the wire to the closing motor has no contact with ground (the body)
- 4If the wire is intact and the fault remains, a workshop should replace the closing motor

- Automatic opening and closing of the tailgate does not work
- The central locking does not work
- The tailgate is hard to close
- The tailgate is hard to open
