What does this fault code mean?
The tailgate control module (POT) checks the supply to the tailgate motor and has found that the current on the output is too low. The cause may be poor contact or oxidation in the connectors, a break in the supply cable, or a damaged motor. The tailgate may then be hard to open and close.
Possible causes
- Contact resistance, oxidation or poor contact in the connectors
- Open circuit in the supply cable
- Damaged tailgate motor
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses for the tailgate are intact
- 2Read off and clear the fault code, then test open and close the tailgate to see whether it comes back
- 3Check that the connectors at the motor and the control module are firmly seated and free from oxidation
- 4Use a multimeter to check that the supply cable to the motor has no break
- 5Check that the tailgate moves easily by hand with nothing binding
- 6If the cable is intact: have a workshop check the motor
