What does this fault code mean?
The tailgate control module (POT) controls the hydraulic opening and closing and has found that the signal voltage from the hydraulic pump motor is too high. This is because the cable harness to the pump is short-circuited to supply voltage, or because the pump motor is damaged.
Possible causes
- Damaged pump motor
- The harness feeding the pump has a short to supply voltage
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses for the tailgate are intact
- 2Clear the fault code and test drive the tailgate to see whether it returns
- 3Use a multimeter to check that the cable to the pump has no contact with voltage while the pump is at rest
- 4Check that the connectors at the pump and the control module are firmly seated and free from corrosion
- 5If the harness is intact: have a workshop check the pump motor and replace the control module if needed

- The central locking for the tailgate does not work
- Automatic opening and closing of the tailgate does not work
