What does this fault code mean?
The voltage supply to the hall sensors in the tailgate motor is too low. The tailgate control module (POT) has detected this, and the cause is a short to ground in the supply. The fault can also be due to a damaged hall sensor.
Possible causes
- Short circuit to ground in the power supply
- Damaged hall sensor
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses for the tailgate are intact
- 2Read off and clear the fault code, test drive and see whether it comes back
- 3Unplug the connector that feeds the hall sensors, clear the fault code and check whether it returns
- 4If the code returns with the connector unplugged, the wiring harness is damaged rather than the hall sensor
- 5Check the connectors to the hall sensors and the control module for loose contacts and oxidation
- 6If the harness is damaged: have a workshop repair it
