What does this fault code mean?
The tailgate control module (POT) receives no reply from the central electronic module (CEM), so communication has been interrupted. The cause may be loose wires, poor contact in the connectors, or a break in the CAN network.
Possible causes
- Loose connections in wires
- Contact resistance or oxidation in the connectors
- Open circuit in the CAN network
What you can do
- 1Read off and clear the fault code, then test drive to see whether communication returns
- 2Check that the connectors at the tailgate control module are firmly seated and clean
- 3Check that the wiring in the tailgate and at the control module is not chafed or loose
- 4If you have a diagnostic tool: if several control modules show communication faults, start with the fault codes in the central electronic module (CEM)
- 5If the fault is only in the tailgate control module: have a workshop download the latest software to it
