Technical Description
P002E is stored when the Engine Control Unit (ECU) detects a low voltage condition in the exhaust camshaft profile control circuit for Bank 2. This sub-system is responsible for switching between different camshaft lobes to optimize engine performance and emissions. The ECU monitors the circuit via a feedback loop; a 'Low' signal typically signifies a short to ground or an open circuit in the solenoid winding or wiring. The control logic relies on a PWM signal, and a deviation from the commanded duty cycle versus the actual electrical state triggers the code, often forcing the engine into a default 'Limp Home' profile to prevent mechanical damage.
Possible Causes
Faulty camshaft profile control solenoid (internal short)
Damaged wiring harness (short to ground in signal or power wire)
Corroded or loose connector pins
Internal Engine Control Unit (ECU) failure

Mechanic's Tip
Before replacing expensive components, always double-check wiring and connections. 80% of all sensor faults are actually due to corroded contacts or broken wires.
