Technical Description
P0032 is a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) for 'HO2S Heater Control Circuit High (Bank 1 Sensor 1)'. It indicates that the Engine Control Module (ECM) has detected higher than expected voltage/current in the oxygen sensor heater control circuit for the upstream sensor. The ECM regulates the heater using a Duty-cycle/PWM signal to reach operating temperature rapidly. A high circuit condition usually points towards a short to voltage (12V) in the wiring or an internal failure within the sensor's heater element itself.
Possible Causes
Faulty Oxygen Sensor (internal short in heater element)
Wiring short to voltage (B+) in the sensor harness
Corroded or damaged connector causing cross-talk/short
Internal ECM failure (damaged heater driver circuit)

Mechanic's Tip
Before replacing expensive components, always double-check wiring and connections. 80% of all sensor faults are actually due to corroded contacts or broken wires.
