Technical Description
P0065 is set when the Engine Control Unit (ECU) detects a range or performance issue within the Air Assisted Injector (AAI) control circuit. This system directs a small amount of metered air into the fuel injector nozzle to improve fuel atomization during idle and low-load conditions, primarily to reduce hydrocarbon (HC) emissions. The ECU monitors the duty cycle of the solenoid valve and expects a specific change in engine parameters (like idle stability or fuel trim). If the feedback deviates from calibrated limits, the code is triggered.
Possible Causes
Faulty Air Assist Control Solenoid valve
Clogged air passages or vacuum lines to the injectors
Wiring harness issues (corrosion or high resistance)
Faulty MAP sensor or intake manifold vacuum leak

Mechanic's Tip
Before replacing expensive components, always double-check wiring and connections. 80% of all sensor faults are actually due to corroded contacts or broken wires.
