Technical Description
P006C is a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) that indicates a correlation error between the Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor and the Turbocharger/Supercharger Inlet Pressure sensor. The ECU monitors these sensors during key-on and under specific engine operating conditions. If the pressure readings deviate beyond a calibrated threshold (typically >1.5 PSI / 10 kPa) when they should be near identical (e.g., at atmospheric pressure before start), the ECU triggers the code. This affects the air-mass calculation and VGT/wastegate control logic, often resulting in derated engine power.

Faulty MAP sensor or clogged sensor port (oil/carbon buildup)
Intake system leaks or boost hose failure (between turbo and throttle)
Faulty Turbocharger Inlet Pressure sensor (TCIP) or BARO sensor

- Visual Inspection: Inspect all boost hoses and vacuum lines for cracks, leaks, or loose clamps. Clean the MAP sensor if oil or carbon buildup is present.
- Measurement (Multimeter): Verify 5V reference voltage at the sensors. Check ground continuity. With Key On Engine Off (KOEO), MAP and TCIP readings should be nearly identical (approx. 101 kPa at sea level).
- Advanced Diagnosis: Use a scan tool to view 'Freeze Frame' data. Compare MAP, BARO, and TCIP in real-time. Values must track logically during boost conditions.
- Component Replacement: Replace the sensor that fails to report accurate atmospheric pressure during KOEO conditions.
