Mercedes Bosch EDC17CP10 Engine Control Unit (ECU)

The Bosch EDC17CP10 is an engine control unit for Mercedes-Benz diesel engines, based on the Infineon TriCore TC1796 architecture. This unit introduced advanced exhaust gas treatment and particulate filter management compared to previous EDC16 generations. The system utilizes internal DFlash for storing immobilizer data and calibration parameters.

Common symptoms include restricted engine power (limp mode), recurring particulate filter efficiency warnings, and rough engine operation during cold starts linked to swirl flap actuator or EGR valve issues.
