Ford Bosch EDC17CP42 Engine Control Unit (ECU)

The Bosch EDC17CP42 is an advanced engine control unit based on the TriCore architecture, specifically configured for Ford diesel applications. This unit introduced increased processing power compared to previous EDC16 generations to manage more complex injection strategies and stricter emission standards. The unit utilizes internal DFlash for storing immobilizer data and calibration parameters, requiring specific methods for data transfer.

Rough engine idle and intermittent misfires that can be traced back to specific injector control circuits within the ECU.
