Bosch EDC16C1 Engine Control Unit (ECU)

The Bosch EDC16C1 is an early generation of the EDC16 family introduced to manage common rail injection with higher precision. It utilizes the MPC556 processor to control fuel pressure and injection timing in BMW and MINI diesel engines. The system marked the transition to more advanced CAN-bus integration compared to the preceding EDC15 generation.

Rough engine operation at partial load and difficulty maintaining stable fuel pressure during acceleration, often linked to incorrect readings from the fuel pressure sensor.
